I can't guarantee that you won't have problems. However, as long as you only use iVPN or Lion Server's VPN service, you shouldn't have any problems. As always, if you do have any problems, I'll be happy to issue a refund within 60 days of your purchase.

Can you run iVPN on Lion Server?

It would be great, as Apple's GUI for the VPN in Lion Server leaves a lot to be desired. Too many things now (even enabling pptp vpn) is now only able to be done via the command line.

Hi,

Yes, iVPN fully supports Mac OS X Lion 10.7. It has been thoroughly tested without any problems. However, if you are planning on upgrading to Lion from Snow Leopard, please uninstall iVPN first as there can be some issues after upgrading. If you have already upgraded and are having problems, just reinstall iVPN and this should fix any problems you're having.

Makes sense. Escalating to root privileges allows an App to do *ANYTHING* it wants. The level of sophistication required of the review process to actually prevent Malware from getting through would be a pain.

I for one have always hated stupid installers from all kinds of programs that have no business wanting my admin user password just to install. I have always preferred copy to Application folder installation. One example that particularly irks me is all the stupid Adobe Applications, not only does that stupid installer want root access, but the program executes hundreds of sub-installers, making it very hard to know what crap they're putting in my system, and their stupid auto-updater always puts that crap Adobe-pdf plug-in in my internet plug-ins folder every time.

I'll just have to get your program from your website. I really was holding off cause I was interested in Apple's keep your purchase history so I don't have one more license to keep track off.

You could make an all in one iDNS/iVPN Configurator for the App store. Make your program generate the necessary configuration files, and provide the user with the location to place them. You could even make your app have a menu option that opens the destination folder in the finder kind of like the Go to Folder menu in Apple. That way when a user drags and drops into a system folder they'll be prompted for their admin password by the Finder not by your program. Anyway, I would still buy it like that, I know how to configure the vpnd and bind manually, but a nice front end that does a good job is always welcome.
